PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adsorbent which is free from an adverse effect on adsorption power due to the complete coverage of the surface of the adsorbent with a resin by integrating the powder or particulate adsorbent with a heat softened product of thermoplastic resin powder. SOLUTION: In an adsorbing material used for the manufacturing of a mask and a refrigerator, a power or a particulate adsorbent is treated in such a manner that it is integrated with a heat softened product of thermoplastic resin powder. In this case, the thermoplastic resin powder is, for example, resin powder such as polythylene or polypropylene and is preferably of such a grain size as 5-200μm. The adsorbent is of a powder or particulate type belonging to adsorbing materials such as active carbon, silica gel, zeolite, activated alumina and diatomite, and is preferably of the grain size such as about 5μm-10mm. A mixture of thermoplastic resin and the adsorbent is, for example, mixed by addition with water or alcohol. The adsorbent is integrated with the thermoplastic resin through its heat softening into the adsorbing material. This absorbing material is molded into a sheet 3 or a block.
